Sandbanks Provincial Park

Last weekend we took our Little Guy Trailer to the Sandbanks Provincial Park.  Although the sand dunes were amazing, the lake was covered with green slime - algae, from the fertilizer used on the new grapevines.  The lake was so polluted.

The park itself was beautiful, but so filthy.  There were broken beer bottles on our campsite and empty cans and liquor bottles and even empty packages of used condoms.  We cleaned up our area.

The dogs were great!  Sleeping in the Little Guy was very comfortable.

Apart from the partying and drinking in the other camp sites, we did enjoy some of the time watching the movie on our laptop and we played scabble - Mila too!

There was a good rain on Sunday morning and it cleaned up the road making it look like something from Elrond's forest of The Lord of the Rings.

We tried kayaking with the dogs.  Mila did okay but Chelsea abandoned ship twice!  Our new strategy is to let her swim for she loves it.  We have PFD's for the dogs and they are on leashes so we can have Chelsea swim beside us and when she tires, we can pull her into the kayak.

Off to a good start!

Hi Everyone!

This blog is the start of a beautiful relationship!  With retirement in the near future, Rick and I see ourselves embarking on many exciting adventures that we would love to share with our friends.  This summer we hope to do some traveling with our Little Guy Trailer.  We have started to introduce kayaking to our canine companions Chelsea and Mila.  Next year we hope to travel to the western parts of Ontario and perhaps Manitoba.  We look forward to sharing with our family and friends.  Please stay tuned for more action and excitement!
